In the Community
With a long history of involvement in legal organizations serving Northern Virginia, the attorneys of RRBMDK maintain an active civic presence as well.
Led by former Alexandria City Council Member Lonnie Rich, the firm has long been a sponsor of the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce, which Lonnie chaired in 2006. Lonnie is also an active member of Commonwealth Baptist Church.
Recently named a 2013 Alexandria Living Legend, Lonnie Rich currently serves as the Immediate Past Chairman of The Campagna Center. Several firm members, Lana Manitta, Katelin Moomau, and Courtney Schlieter are active in the Junior Friends, a Campagna Center supporting organization. In December 2012, Katelin Moomau successfully co-chaired the Events Donation Committee for The Campagna Center.
Ed Rosenthal has devoted much of his career to the protection of civil liberties and equal justice under law. He serves on the statewide board of directors of the American Civil Liberties Union of Virginia, of which he is also a director of its Northern Virginia Chapter, whose monthly meetings he hosts at our offices. Ed plays an active role in the selection and screening of Virginia cases sponsored by the ACLU. He is an occasional speaker on law and public affairs at area schools. Ed is also an active member and mentor in the George Mason University Inns of Court, an invitational association of attorneys, judges, and law students.
Lana Manitta and Katelin Moomau are also members of the Virginia Women Attorney’s Association, and Lana Manitta has served on a number of Judicial Selection Committee Panels with that organization. Lana Manitta is also active in the Alexandria Chamber Professional Women’s Network and helped organize and now chairs its annual “Heels and Wheels” event.
Rick Dzubin currently serves as general counsel for the Alexandria Small Business Development Center. In the past, he was general counsel for the Alexandria Chamber of Commerce and served as a board member of the Alexandria Law Foundation.
An experienced domestic relations attorney, Shannon Kroeger is an active member of the Fairfax Bar Association serving as a volunteer conciliator for the Fairfax County Circuit and Juvenile and Domestic Relations District Courts. She is also a member of the Bar’s Family Law Section. Outside of the legal community, Shannon is an active member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church, where she is a Sunday school teacher. She is also an active member of the Parent Advisory Board for her children’s preschool.
For over 40 years, Beau Brincefield has served on and chaired many Committees of the Northern Virginia Association of Realtors. In 2002, he was elected to the NVAR Hall of Fame. Beau has been a frequent author and lecturer on real estate and civil litigation and is frequently quoted in Forbes Magazine, The Wall Street Journal, The Washington Post, and other national and local publications. Beau serves as a Head Usher and Lector at St. Mary’s Church, in Old Town, where his parents were married in 1937.
Roy Shannon has been member of the Alexandria Community Service Board since 2009 and was recently elected a Vice Chair. Roy is also a graduate of both the Alexandria Citizens Police Academy and the Alexandria Citizens Academy. He is a coach for the Alexandria Lacrosse Club and will continue to coach t-ball and soccer youth sports in Alexandria. Roy is an active parishioner of St. Mary’s Catholic Church and School.
